I met Mariska Hargitay on the very first day of kindergarten. We have been friends ever since. When I was visiting her in NYC last week and I told her all about my 31 Days of pink–she said why don’t you put my mother on your blog? Without her blessing I would not have done this but off I went searching for Jayne Mansfield and pink.
Everyone knows about the house. Truly, it was nicknamed “The Pink Palace.” And was, indeed, pink. It is no longer standing, but I am including a picture. For awhile it was owned by another friend’s family. Both Mariska and I were friends with Englebert Humperdink’s daugher, Louise, who has grown into a lovely woman.
What follows are pictures of Jayne and her home and her 1957 car. I chose pictures I would like to have around if she was my mom. I never knew her but to this day I always wish I had. Mariska is a daughter to make any mother proud. Enjoy! Apologies for the quality of some of the photos…

Thanks, Angelique…a nice trip down memory lane. It's been so long I'd forgotten the Pink Palace. Mariska is both talented and beautiful…a very kind face.

I also love Mariska. A beautiful woman, a talented actress and a person of great character.
