Character Challenge Week is coming to an end today.
It has been exciting to see so many of you actively engaged in developing your characters, and your responses to the 5-minute daily challenges across these past 5 days.
If you didn’t join for this first week, don’t worry. You can sign up at anytime and hold your own 5-day Character Challenge here.
In fact, it’s a great opportunity to enlist a few writing buddies to make a leap in your characters’ stories together and serve as accountability and motivation for one another to get the most out of it!
In the middle of Challenge Week, I held my very first Facebook Live to answer your burning character questions live. Missed it? You can check out the recording!
In the recording, you can learn:
- How to flesh out your character’s desire and drive to carry your story forward
- How to source powerful and intriguing character names, and why Helen Gale as a character name might be perfect for your comedy, or terribly obvious
- Examples of how to apply my 25 questions framework to add depth to your characters before you ever start writing the story
- And much more!
As you move forward with your writing know that I, too, am working on one of my characters using the 25 questions and the other methods I gave you in the challenge.
Working with inspired authors like you always gives me fresh excitement for my own writing and I can’t wait to work on my current mystery novel more.
Enjoy your weekend and create those memorable characters!
